I started painting little wooden figures at my kitchen table the winter my grandson was born, and friends kept asking to buy them. Now I fill a shelf in the spare room every autumn so there is always something ready when people come looking for a tree ornament or a small toy made with a bit of care. Each piece is painted by hand, so no two are exactly alike — the small wobbles are part of the charm. I keep the shop small on purpose: I only list what I have actually finished and can hold in my hand.
